End-of-June

I got to go with part of the school last week to wash students go hand-fishing and snailing. They were so funny to watch scramble around while getting completely soaked. The girls screamed as fish brushed against them trying to evade the boys. These two were very good at catching fish. The boy on the left, one of my 5th graders, caught 16 fish!

This past week, my school traveled about 40 minutes outside out city to play volleyball, and we stopped on the way back for a picnic. This was one of the 4 burners, loaded with pork. Everyone brought something in that day, and I was in charge of drinks. Of course, they forgot my water at the school, so it looked like Jeremy Teacher forgot even the simplest of things. Oops.

Tokina 12-24mm F4 Lens

Got my hands on my first ultra wide-angle lens, the Tokina 12-24mm a week ago, and finally got to take it out for a spin, what with overcast weather and a busy schedule. Now, I really have no comparison when it comes to this lens, but seeing how I paid about 1/3 of the price I would for something like the Nikon 12-24mm, plus the fact that this glass produces some very nice (in my opinion), clear shots, I love it. I have really gotten into landscape shots, wide-angle shots in general, really. It's not that I want to get as much as I can into a shot, but sometimes when the contents are there just waiting for you to capture them, you want it. I'll be taking this lens to Seoul tomorrow to get some waterway shots. Here are some sample shots, completely untouched, just around my area. It was a beautiful day today and a perfect opportunity to take my new precious out.

Visiting the green tea plantation

Scoping out the green tea farm we stayed at.

Green tea plantation

Green tea plantation- The path less traveled by. No one in sight, thankfully I brought my tripod!

Roasting green tea leaves. The smell was immediate and amazing.

Malia and the farm's dog. Famous, as you can see his face painted on the welcome sign! Sunoongi, Hi.
